Ready for another quilt, this time for our neighbors Doris and Vicki. When we moved to SC, we were very fotunate to have great neighbors. We were all in the same situation, moved from somewhere else and didn’t know anyone here. We hit the neighbor jackpot!! Doris and Vicki came from NJ to SC and live right next door.
I had planned awhile ago to make them a quilt, but they ordered new furniture, so I decided to wait until it was delivered. That was 8 months!!! I had this layer cake is the right colors. Picked out this free pattern from Material Girl Quilts.
Once the HSTs were all pieced and trimmed I was ready to lay out the blocks.
I took pictures of each block and loaded them into word and then was able to move them around for layout. It was much easier than getting up and down on the floor. This was the layout I decided.
Ready for the quilt sandwich and then quilting. Yup straight line quilting. Did one line of quilting inside each seam. It gave a great design on back.
Here she is all washed and ready to head next door.

That is a gorgeous quilt! I have a quilt in progress with the same fabrics, which will have a .very different look. I love the pattern the quilting created. I am sure they will love your handiwork.
