Way back in December, Julia Red Rain Boots, listed on IG she was doing a red fabric swap. I decided I was not only in, but in three times, meaning I was sending and receiving three batches of red fabrics. Below are the three fabrics I chose.
I should have written this post way back then, I think each grouping was 1.?? yards, cut into 53 (I think) 5 x 5 squares.
I cut all my squares and sent them to Julia. She had over 700 people swapping fabric. Her family were rock stars. Sorting all the fabrics and putting together the groups.
Here are the fabrics I received back. I think out of the 150+ squares maybe three were repeat fabrics.
You know what I did my favorite HSTs.
Simple quilting along the seams.
A great finish, 65 x 65, with a total of 289 HSTs. Added that red stripe binding and we have a quilt. Of course, it took five washes with color catchers to finally get all the residual color.
As I am putting this post together, I checked Julia’s site and she is taking emails for her next fabric swap. You guessed right, I’ll be joining in. I’m hoping for Navy.
I have several quilts I have finished this year that I am working on getting documented. More to come!

Love your red and white quilt. What a great idea to do a color swap, probably because you received so many awesome fabrics. And because of your encouragement, I followed you down the rabbit hole and signed up. It will be interesting to see what color is selected. Again, just an awesome quilt you made.
I love red and white quilts! So classy. What fun to receive so many different fabrics from the swap! Great way to use them. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

Fun finish, Jan!!! You were really hanging in there washing it 5x! Love the striped binding and your label on the front corner, too!!!
What a fun quilt and amazed that you only got 3 duplicates….I guess since it was a triple order! Great job….and good for you for waiting until the color catchers got clean. That sounds like you used a whole box or did you reuse some? Again, you made a really great quilt!
What a great idea, pooling stash fabrics and receiving squares in return. Your HST quilt is lovely – the simple echo quilting is just right!
