Have you seen the rope bowls being made across the net? I think I am late to the party, but decided I needed to jump in. At the quilt show in February, I bought some rope. Finally had some energy to try one out.
After watching a few videos I got started. Good thing I bought more rope, some practice is needed for the center start section.
It didn’t take too long to have it done. Although I do have a big dimple in the bottom. Okay, I need to work on the handle attachment too.
Not bad for a first try. I do have more of these in my future.

My machine is straight stitch, but I have seen these bowls and thought they look like great fun. I love the contrasting thread you chose!
Personally I like the dimple! What a beautiful bowl. I look forward to the next ones you make. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
Oh! And it’s so good to have you back! Thanks for dropping by and sharing your bowl.
You my friend are amazing!!! Thanks for sharing, it is so darn cute!!
Love your bowl and the accent thread is great. I made some coasters too and those are fun for practicing your flat bottoms. I they are fun and a great diversion.
Cool bowl, Jan! I like the contrast color thread you used. There’s a clothesline bowl basket class at our LQS, but I’ve never made one. You are very adventurous!
