Time to make another quilt for an gift. This one is for my nephew, who has had many rough patches during his life. He has just purchased a home. Something modern looking was in order. Playroom by Sewn Hand Made.
Better yet, it was in black and white, so there was no thinking on my part.
I added one piece of red to the quilt as a remembrance to his Mom.
Piecing was very quick.
The top is complete.
My March goal is to have this top completed and in the mail. Ordered wide backing and the wait was on. Two and a half weeks for an order. I am still having a bit of trouble thinking these delivery times are the new normal.

What a striking quilt top! Love that red piece. Yes, these backorders are horrific, aren’t they? I am still waiting on a roll of batting that I ordered at the end of January. Estimated ship date is MARCH 25th! Thank goodness I didn’t wait to order until I had run out!

This is gorgeous and will be well loved by your nephew. I find so much depends on where you are ordering from. The new normal is not fun as we have found out with moving, but I am trying to be patient.

I made a black and white with a little red quilt and it was beautiful. In fact, it’s the only one I’ve ever made that sold really fast after I put it up for sale.
Very chic and love your touch of color. It definitely adds a focus to the quilt. I wish good things for your nephew in his new home.
