Wall Hangings

The walls have been empty since we moved in April, 2019.  Something needed to be added.

I bought several Lella Boutique patterns over the years.  My intention was to make quilts from each of her patterns bought so far.  Instead I was looking for a few quick sewing projects and wanted to get something up on my walls.  Perfect choice was to pull out these patterns and make test blocks.  A win win for me.  I got to see each block up close and had something to hang on the wall.

Below are the three blocks I put together.

Icebox

Snow Blossoms

Mabel

Here are the three together.

Now I need to pick a favorite block and make a quilt.  I think I have picked one, which is your favorite?

Maybe it’s the season, maybe it’s the name….but I like Mabel.

Very smart to make test blocks as mini quilts; they look great! I’m really drawn to Icebox, but it’s a tough choice.

How fun to make test block wall hangings! I like Icebox the best and think it has the most potential for a quilt with lots of movement.

I love making one block and turning it into a mini quilt! Those look perfect for decorating your wall!

Great idea! I like the colors in icebox – and I like the 3-D effect from the placement too.

How pretty, Jan! What a great idea to make test blocks into wall hangings. I love her patterns, too.

Those blocks made for some really fun mini quilts! A great way to try out a pattern without committing to a whole quilt. I liek the first and last ones best.

Hum, decisions, decisions! They all look great. But I’d like to see one using Icebox. Whatever you choose will be wonderful! Have fun making the next one!

I envy your empty walls. Mine are pretty full. I like all the blocks, but vote for the first one because of the colors.

I like them all, and drawn to different ones for different reasons. I think for a quilt, I would pick Icebox, love the cirss cross you will get from the corner block!

I vote with the majority – Icebox – and it’s appropriate for our sudden change in the weather. Brrrr

All three are lovely but Icebox is my favorite!

Mabel is my favorite because of the sharp contrasts where all colors stand out beautifully. If you pick this one, may I suggest snowballing the four corners with bright colors. It will create a neat secondary pattern and break the monotony of large dark squares. Whatever you pick, I will be here cheering you along 🙂
