I finished my February One Monthly goal. I never imagined I would be able to make a stamp quilt. It always seemed so daunting, all those pieces.
Then I took the leap. What really helped was using Mini-Charm packs from my favorite fabrics since I started quilting a few years ago. When I bought a FQ bundle or layer cake, I would pick up a Mini-Charm pack, never knowing what I would do with them.
I posted about how I put them together here.
Here is the top together, which was my January OMG.
This was the first large quilt to sandwich at the new house. My last island counter was large with no sink, so a perfect place to do a sandwich. This island is a not as big and has a sink in it, so no sandwiching there. I had to do the floor. Yikes it is a long way down and back up. I had to move the dining room table and chairs to get space.
Grunge Dot in cobalt is the backing, treated myself to wide. Superior Thread So Fine Brooklet is the thread for the back. White thread for the top stitching.
Binding is my go to Black and White stripe.
It was a very windy day, but beautiful sun today. My quilt holders (inexperienced at windy days) had a hard time.
Of course the quilting is straight line, couldn’t do anything else with these small blocks. But it turned out great. So many of my favorite fabrics all in one place.
I truly enjoyed putting this quilt together. Seeing each of the fabrics that I’ve used over my quilting life (it’s been a short life-only 4 1/2 years) again. I never thought this is what I would do with those little 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch fabric packs, so cutely named as min-charms. But I am glad I started to buy them and finally decided to use them up. Maybe I’ll need to buy more of those mini’s. Oh wait, I already did.

Congratulations on such a lovely finish.
Awesome quilt!!! Love it, and great choices for backing and binding.
I collect the minis and make quilts out of them too – I collected for a year and cut them into mini tumblers, another time into a postage stamp like yours – I am collecting them again and I’m not sure what I will do with them this time – I will collect for a year and decide then!
Hi Jan! WOWEE! What a fabulous quilt. I just love that the mini-charms represent favorite fabrics from other quilts. It will be a nice reminder every time you look at all the different squares. How big is the quilt? It looks huge! I guess I could try to do the math . . . or you could just tell me. HAHA! What an ambitious project that you just nailed. Thanks for linking up for TGIFF. ~smile~ Roseanne
Oh, I love it! It’s so colorful and bright. And the striped binding is swoon-worthy, I think! Did you spray baste? I’m still trying to figure out how I could do that on a large quilt in my little house. I worry about overspray, so I’m curious about what you did. Great finish!
AWESOME!!! What a great way to use all those charm packs!! and it is full of memories!!
Beautiful stamp quilt, so many pretty fabrics is here!
I love this quilt and seeing all of the different fabric lines. I’m embarrassed to admit some of them are unfamiliar to me. I’m also admiring your awesome piecing and quilting-I don’t like sewing pinked edges. Moda does do a great job with their precuts so I am sure that helped. Congrats on a great finish,
It came together so well; the quilting is perfect. Congratulations on the great quilt!
This is so fabulous and what a great idea to collect them as you went along – even if you did not know why. I can’t believe you quilted the whole thing – that is amazing. It is such an eye catching quilt and what a fun eye spy for you!
What a FANTASTIC way to use all of those mini charms!!!
Great finish, Jan!!! What’s the finished size? I love how you did the quilting.
It’s adorable!!! And a great way to use up those treasured minis.
That is fabulous, Jan! It’s an I Spy for quilters! I know it took 1600 squares, but how many mini charm packs is that?
It is beautiful! All those matching points….I’m impressed.
This is awesome – now I want to make one! Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and congrats on your finish!
Really lovely quilt and the quilting is just a perfect match for the design – it must have taken you ages to stitch all those lines!
Congrats on a stunning finish!
