My OMG for January was to get my Stamp Quilt top together.
Remember we started this project with 37 mini charm packs. That is 1554 pieces of fabric. I decided 25 blocks of 8 x 8 would make a great size quilt, 80 x 80. That left me with 46 scrap 2.5 x 25 pieces to add for a total of 1600 pieces of fabric. It wasn’t too hard to pick 46 of my favorite scraps. Doesn’t 1600 sound intimidating. It did to me, but I got started in late December. In no time, I had 25 8 x 8 block done.
Here is my stack of 25 blocks.
Next I started to put the rows together. The only strategy to putting them together was to nest the seams.
Progress was made quicker than I thought. Nesting was working out great so far.
Here is the completed quilt top, all 1600 pieces. See any of your favorite Moda’s here?
My regular quilt holder, aka hubby, had surgery and can’t raise his arms yet, so I became holder and he took this picture.
And one more!!!
Don’t look too close, some of those seams didn’t quite match up, but majority were right on!!!
Ordered some wide backing yesterday. Can you guess what my February OMG will be?
I’m linking up with some friends:
