Trying to do a little cleanup of scraps and found these little zebras. I had purchased this fabric to make a Sew Together Bag for my SIL. Zebras were her thing. We lost her last year, I decided to make a lap quilt for her sister using Donna’s favorite zebras.
Not quite enough fabric for a lap quilt, so let’s add some white. When all else fails, add white.
Here she is quilted, bound and washed.
Some easy straight line quilting.
I like how it makes a simple pattern on the back. This was a quick one, took about 5 hours total.
She is ready to be delivered on our trip back to Michigan this month.

Simple is best sometimes. The zebra fabric is so cute. I’m sure your SIL’s sister will treasure it.
The zebra story choked me up. That will be a wonderful quilt for her sister. I love how you spaced out the straightline quilting, Jan.
I’m sure that find was a bit emotional, Jan, but you made such a nice quilt with those cute zebras. I am sure her sister will enjoy the quilt and all the love that went into it. Great quilting design too!
Oh how cute!! I love that zebra fabric!! and what a sweet way to remember and honor your SIL – sorry for you loss.
What a good use of the fabric. I know her sister will treasure it. Love the quilting too,
I loved these fabrics when you first posted them and really love how you put them to make a sweet memory quilt which I’m sure will bring joy.
The minty zebras are terrific and I am sure your sister will appreciate the quilt and the sentiment behind it. The white is perfect and that straight line quilting gave a lot of definition to the border.
I am a big believer in “just add white,” too! And the black and white striped binding is the perfect finish for this project. : )
