We finally gave porch rockers, but needed some pillows. I couldn’t find the right size so I decided I would make them. That meant zippers, yikes. After much research on installing zippers, ordering zippers from my favorite place, ZipIt on Etsy. I had one finished and one to go.
Since we are in the hurricane zone, I thought it would be a good idea to add tie downs. Just put pieces with velcro in the seams, that would wrap around the back of the chairs.
Here they are all finished and catching some rays. Each pillow took less than an hour. But that was after about 20 hours or research and fear of cutting the fabric and messing up.
I found the sunbrella fabric at a local place via Marketplace. They have home decor fabric and are hoping to close that piece of their business by end of year. Great prices! I made a list of other pieces I want to get and am heading there tomorrow for more project things!
They look great, and now you have zippers as part of your sewing knowledge 🙂 So fun to see you settling into your new home!
Looks so sophisticated, Jan! You even added some tie-downs! Great job!
