Winter months are slowly going by. The snow is piling up, the new house isn’t finished yet, so it was time to put my bee blocks from 2018 hives together.
First up is the Merri Mint block from Moda’s Countdown to Christmas 2017.
I’ve always wanted to do a red and white quilt so this was a perfect choice. My hive mates did not disappoint.
It was quick to put together and quilting was a simple straight stitch with the walking foot.
Next up was Ripples by Blossom Heart Quilts. This was a great block to go scrappy.
I think this quilt is my favorite from bee blocks yet. There are so many different fabrics
Put it together with some scrap backing and binding and it was done.
I am in three hives for 2019. I was the queen in January for two hives and March for the third. I promise it won’t take as long to put those quilts together. Once we are moved and the machine is plugged in I am ready.
Very pretty! I really love the red & white quilt; simple pattern but WOW when you put it all together.
Oh, I love both quilts! I have always wanted to make a red and white quilt too, but never seem to get it done. I like the fabrics in the second quilt; they are so fun! You should see the snow falling out my window. Forecasts are predicting 9 inches today, with more coming this weekend. We already have about 20 inches on the ground. Sure makes for good sewing time!
Such beautiful bright quilts!
Jan, you continue to amaze me, these are Beautiful!…
Two adorable quilt finishes, Jan!!! Great job, amidst snow and all!!!
Where are you – with that snow??? I love both of these and love the assist from the bees so that it is a fast finish. Great colors and great patterns!!
