Amazing, it is already time for Amy’s Creative Side – 2018 Blogger’s Quilt Festival. Each year I enjoy looking at so many quilts from such talented quilters.
I’m entering a quilt I made for one of my Grandaughters.
I ran into a few issues making this quilt and you can read about them here. Here is the back with some of those issues fixed. I am thrilled with the finished quilt.
Of course I had to make one for her sister too.
The backing problems resulted in adding the band of hearts and I love how those came out. Even if there is a problem, the solution can be better than your original plan.
Head on over to Amy’s and check out all the beautiful quilts being shown.
I love your nice bright twinsies! The backs are very inventive and prettier than a plain back. Makes them reversible.
Beautiful quilts!
These were beautiful quilts to watch you create. I love how the Festival helps us celebrate fantastic finishes again. I’m glad you were able to get these fixed and finished just how you envisioned.
Of course. You cannot give a gift to one sibling and not to the other. That is just asking for trouble. Fortunately for Nina and Sydney, you did a beautiful job on both their quilts, including their names. No fights, no pouting and no arguments ever. Love the pieced backings with the patchwork hearts. I like to think that when they sleep under the quilts, these quilty hearts are close to their hearts.
I get so mad when I get a crease in the back – I go to great lengths to avoid that. (Went to your link on the quilt process). I have to make it a point to check the back as I add quilting.
I’m glad you chose these sweet quilts for the Blogger’s Quilt Festival! The pieced hearts in the backing really do make them two-sided quilts. Great to see them again!
Those pieced hearts are just the cutest!
A pair of very sunny quilts, every ‘problem’ happens for a reason 🙂
You know for a new quilter, you are so much a better machine quilter than I am. Sorry to hear about the backing problems agains but in the end you made two beautiful quilts. I just love how you personalized each one with their names.
