As the new year starts, I have one full year of quilting experience. I am looking to have some fun and work on things that I normally wouldn’t do So I started looking for QAL and BOM.
On instagram I saw Mystery Quilter. She was sharing her 2017 Totally Triangle Quiltalong. It runs from January 7 to June 24. With a new block every 2 weeks.
All the blocks are triangle patchwork. They look fun and not too difficult. And YEA!!!! there is no paper piecing. I don’t think I am ready for paper piecing yet.
Sheila’s Totally Triangle Quilt has been accepted into Quiltcon in Savanah in February.
Anyone who knows me or looks at my blog, knows that I am not that creative. Fabric selection comes from precuts and collections.
But yesterday I headed to the local quilt shop and gave it a try for the Totally Triangle Quiltalong.
I am using Kona Slate and Kona White. The colors are all from Andover Fabrics – Dimples. Technically I chose my own fabric, since it didn’t come in a pre-cut bundle with a nice ribbon on it. So I didn’t really go that far out of the collection box, I do think it will be nice.
So I am off to go start the first block. Triangle Nine Patch.
Best laid plans. Weren’t we all taught to read the instructions first. Well I don’t have a 60 degree triangle ruler, I have a 30-degree. So placed an order and will get to iron my fabric today.
Over on instagram Sheila was looking for 5 champions to quilt along with her. I was so excited that I got to join this journey. So you will be seeing a lot of me and my blocks for the next 25 weeks.
So here is to 25 weeks of triangle fun and sharing with Sheila @mysteryquilter
