I took the leap and joined an online Quilting Bee. I am part of the #beehivelilypad2017. I will be Queen in April. This is scary for me, as I have normally used precuts for my quilts. That way I don’t need to pick fabric. I’m not sure that my creativity is ready, but I’m giving it a try.
Here is my cut pieces for our January Queen, Rita Crews. Rita chose Ripples by Blossom Heart Quilts for her block. Black and whites were her color choice.
This is my first “Real” quilt block. Normally I just use precuts and put them together. So this was a scary thing for me. Here are the fabrics and my cut pieces.
Once I had them cut, I let them sit a few days. Not sure why, other than not really wanting to tackle a “block”. Once I started, it didn’t seem so bad.
So here is my finished block. It turned out quite well. Majority of my points are looking great. A few are off a smidge, but overall I think the block turned out great.
So now to send off my block and ticked one item off my to do list.

You are so ready for a bee! Your block looks great! Relax and enjoy!
You did a wonderful job / it looks great!
Looks beautiful Jan! Before you know it you'll have a huge stash, your piecing looks wonderful, to me it is more important to enjoy the quilting process instead of being perfect.
That is a great job, beautiful points, nicely done!
Great job! It is a very pretty block!
I have joined my first Bee this year as well. I can't wait to learn new things from the blocks that are requested.
All I can say is, "Wow! What a beautiful block you created!" Also, perfection is overrated – enjoy the process! You are one amazingly talented lady! Congratulations!
