Best of 2016 Linky Party

With only a few days left in 2016, Cheryl at Meadow Mist Designs is hosting a linky party.  She challenged us to post our 5 “best” posts from 2016 and linkup.

Meadow Mist Designs

Since I haven’t been quilting for to long, my creativity is based on patterns and precuts.  But the only point that matters is I enjoy the time and the end results.

The only problem is I am not only building a stash of fabric, I am building a stash of quilts. I have given several away to family and charities.  More giving coming up in 2017.

Since I haven’t been blogging long, I don’t have much of a following and get most of my views from link parties.  I love them, because it give me the opportunity to see so many beautiful pieces.

So here are my Top 5 by views.

#5  Another Sew Together Bag

After my first bag, I thought a few more were in order.  This bag went together as nicely as the first, until I got to the binding.  I really am binding challenged.  Frustration set in, multiple needles, skipped stitches, but I plugged along and finished it.

#4  Quilt #24

I had some left over jelly roll strips from another project and put together this quilt, of course using a pattern.  I went together very nicely and made another great charity quilt.

#3  Quilt #21

I was looking for something quick and easy to put together as a distraction for a couple of days.  I used up a charm pack I had picked up on sale somewhere.  It was the first time I used wide backing.  it made it so easy, although I still love a pieced backing.

#2  OMG November Done

I had a enjoyed putting this quilt together.  It started with left overs from a previous quilt, that I needed to tear apart and put back together.

#1  Sew Together Bag

I saw this bag online and thought it would be a cute gift, to have in my gift stash.  So I set out to make one.  I enjoyed this project and it came together fairly quick.  I had been forwarned about the zippers, but I found the zippers much easier than the binding.  This was my test bag to see how it went before I made a few more for gifts.

Thanks to Cheryl for this linky party.

I too am amazed at your quality of work for being a newbie. You must have some sewing in your background (or have taken lots of classes …)

I love those Sew Together bags, but haven't been brave enough to try one yet. It's always the zippers that put me off, even though I've made lots of zipper pouches. Yours look great!

Great finishes! I would love to make one of those sew together bags but am intimidated by so many zippers 🙂 Thanks for linking up to the Best of 2016 linky party!
