Well this week I have made no progress, I’ve gone backwards. I started back on my quilt #14 that I started in June, Quilt #14. As I started to get back to it, I have no clue what happened. The points weren’t matching up. So I thought I should check and re-trim the blocks. That didn’t work either, so on to the next step, Ripping it all out down to the HSTs. So yesterday was my ripping day. Yikes.
But to not leave you without a great quilt finished. I’ll share with you my sisters story of her quilt. It was her third quilt every. When we went to Charleston, SC to visit family we stopped at People, Places and Quilts. It was a great shop that is housed in an old hardware store. The original wood floors are beautiful They had several rooms of quilts and fabric. The staff was wonderful. In talking with one of the ladies, we determined her sister is from Holland, MI, which is about 20 minutes from us. Small world.
She had wanted to get some additional material and they were so helpful to do all that over the phone. Great shop, if you are in the area, I would definitely make the drive.
So here is the quilt kit my sister bought and put together.
It turned out so nice. This is the first rag quilt I’ve really seen in person and it was very soft. Although she did learn from the web, don’t wash and dry it the first few times at home, go to the laundromat.
So at least there is a finish in this post, not mine, but a finish. Hope to have mine finished in the next 20 days.
