I finished the quilting of the top this morning. Here it is. It looks pretty good, of course I can see issues, but hopefully the recipient will not notice.
That wasn’t too bad. It took me two mornings, but I wasn’t in any hurry. This morning I put together the binding strips, ironed and clipped to the quilt.
So now it is time to start putting on the binding.
Hope I get this done without the need to rip out. Positive thinking this will be easy, take my time and it can be done.
Quilting is always a learning experience. The more you do, the more you learn. I've been quilting for 10+ years and I'm still learning! Your binding will be just fine…positive thinking!
I have so much enjoyed reading your blog. I went back to the earlier posts and saw your beautiful house, I laughed so much at your sewing machine tales of the walking foot, it must have been frustrating for you, but your writing style is so open and honest it was as if you were talking to me.
You have come a long way in a short time with your quilting, the main thing is you try, you are honest about your mistakes, and you learn from your experience. With every quilt you make you will improve. I always hand stitch my binding, I prefer the finish it gives. Next time you might try making your own, it's quite straightforward and you can find tutorials about anything on you tube if you prefer to be shown.
It's lovely to 'meet' you.
